Another hit in my book for clarinetist James Falzone. Lamentations features him in a trio mixing jazz with chamber music and world music. With Ronnie Malley on oud (and some vocals) and Tim Muvenna on hand drums (mostly).
Composed trios, a traditional song, and improvisations for clarinet and drum. Falzone’s writing is very sensitive without getting over-delicate. This CD weaves a moving atmosphere where creativity is expressed quietly.
